I'm trying to be more active on deviantArt for more serious art escapades, so I figured I should probably ditch this account and start anew.  You can now find me over here! ->:iconcrystallineabyss:
I'm going to try and be more active in posting current art!

I've already uploaded my year in review, so hop on over there for more stuff in the near future.  Hell, I might even post schoolwork.  Had a lot of fun with metalworking this year.

I don't even have a good excuse for my lack of activity.  I'm just lazy, and school's a bitch.

I've got over 300 pictures to sort through and upload.  Massive backlog, c hri st.  You can see p much all/most of them over here; bunch of sketch dumps so nothing too great.

I need to kick my ass into gear jesus christ.

Yay! Activity!

1 min read
I should really brush the dust off of this, holy frig.

Well, hi again to any who still partake in deviantArt.  If you haven't noticed, I did just recently upload something, so that's fun.  Hopefully I'll be more active, but only time will tell.

That aside, have a good day.

So, as I said Thursday, I was at a convention.  Dang it was really fun.

Lemmie tell you about it.

I went as KHstuck Rose, the design by LoonyTwin.  I think it came out well, though my keyblade was way too heavy to bring.  So, I brought the Necronomicon with me instead.

We left the house at around six to pick my friend up and we headed off to the con.

We spent a LOT of time just hanging out and talking with the cosplayers.  We found two AMAZING TARDIS cosplayers.  One had a smaller dress with what seemed to be a corset, and the inside of the TARDIS at the top.  She also had a hood with it.  GOSH it was amazing.  Then the other had a really cool ball dress, and a top at that flashed blue.
Of course I got pictures of them.  I grabbed a picture of the second TARDIS with a DALEK cosplayer.  Her dress was awesome, too.

My friend (who was Red Riding Hood) and I went back and forth from outside to the inside of the hotel.  I found the Karkat I nearly licked last year there!  She was there as Homestuck, from Fandomstuck.

We went into the artist part of the vendor room and found the Ghostbuster's table.  Of course, I got a picture of my friend with them.  While there, I saw a group of THREE Jack Frosts.  One was normal, two were dark.  I approached the dark one and said that he looked ill, and should get that checked, and then he went off on a tangent on Fearlings, and how he was the Fearling prince.
So I said: "Let me tell you about Heartless." And explained what they were in the most GRUESOME detail, and they stopped and hugged me, saying how wonderful I was.

I got a picture of the three of them, they were cool.

So, there was this post apocalyptic costuming group there.  And I found their table.  It was a group based around GENERAL post apocalyptic media, but it was entirely dedicated to Fallout.  They had a Power Armor Helmet on the stand, a Mini Nuke (WHICH WAS HOLDING THE LADY'S COFFEE I KID YOU NOT), bottle caps, awesome rifles and pistols, and just--
Okay, I'll stop.  That's getting out of hand.

I ran into some Supernatural cosplayers when my friend and I went to the Homestuck panel.  They were pretty fun to talk to.

The Homestuck panel was amazing.  It was hilarious (JOHN AND DAVE GOT ON THE STAGE LATE WITH STARBUCKS)  Lil Cal seriously rapped the rules, and threatened to eat any cellphones that were left on.  When they opened it for questions, no one raised their hands!  So, I raised mine.
Calliope and Lil Cal were running it, so Callie called on me to ask.  So, I stood up, and - per my normal headcanon for weird AUs like KHstuck - I asked to know just what the heck were those gray things on the stage.  I said they were reminiscent of zombies, and Karkat asked what a zombie was.  So, I replied they were once people who died, and were reanimated.  The have skin almost dripping off of their bones, and they try to infect others to be like them.  He seemed offended, and tried to ignore me.  Kanaya answered the question as to they were trolls, and I said the only trolls I knew where the large, ugly brutes that lived under bridges and smelled worse than old, rotting gym socks.  Karkat looked as if he was going to KILL ME I'M--
I nearly cried from laughing at the panel.  I'm not joking.  It was hilarious, I loved it.  The Meenah was beautiful, I wish I could've found out who she was online.
However, after the panel I spent a lot of my time trying to find three cosplayers.  All of them had passed through the tent or by it, so I couldn't grab their pictures then (cause it was during the panel).   A Sora cosplayer walked by a couple times.
But these two Tunnel Snakes cosplayers walked through the tent.
And I spent a LONG time trying to find them.  And yes, I did get the picture of the Tunnel Snakes.  And even when I ASKED THEM for the picture, they were in character.  IT WAS SERIOUSLY BUTCH.  They were AWESOME.  Even had the accent down!  Xera, I mentioned you, and they said they were always looking for new Tunnel Snakes.
One cool thing about them was their Pipboys.  They had rigged their iPhones to be Pipboys.  I only found them cause I heard Enclave music playing!  And apparently, they were using them to find each other!  Awesome.
Yeah, I did get a picture of the Sora.  Which was cool.  His keyblade was really neat!  Sure, it was made of what seemed like foam and duct tape, but it was actually proportionate.  And thick.  And we both expressed our disdain for the keyblades most other people use, and how disproportionate they were.

I grabbed photos of Madoka, Fire Lord Ozai, my friend with a really cool Alice (as in, Alice in Wonderland), Luka from Tailor Ahop on Enbizaka, Meiko from Evil Food Eater Conchita, Noctis, Stella, Desmond, Ezio........Dead Pool.  Bunch of Homestucks...Oh!  And there were these Mom and Dad cosplayers walking together.  They were so CUTE!

The photoshoot was at five, and it was really fun.  They did it based on category, and I got in a few times cause I was: A) a Homestuck cosplayer (everyone joined in for that one), B) a Beta kid (Rose), C) a God Tier (I'm not sure I ever want to work with orange ever again), and obviously D)I was a Rose.
I got some pretty good pictures of the photoshoot ouo

I hung out with the Gamzee from the panel outside, and they were SERIOUSLY GAMZEE, THEY ACTED JUST LIKE HIM.
But the best thing ever happened.
I was hanging out, facing the door to the convention, and I actually screamed.  There were two Daft Punk cosplayers that looked just like them.  Of coure I got a picture it was too good to pass up.

Okay, fangirling aside, I met a Kyuubey with my friend.  I pushed her to sign his contract, and she DID.  We both DID.  I told her the consequences, and she said she didn't care, and that it'd be fun.  (I also signed the Death Note, per some guy's request.  Yet I signed it "Slayer of Heartless."

I also went to this thing called Anime Unscripted, which was basically improv.  And it was hilarious.  One subject was Narcolepsy and spontaneous combustion.  It was way too fun.

I ran into the Jacks a couple of times.  Once when I was inside, I threatened to burn the Jack that had hugged me earlier.  He hid behind the normal Jack, telling me to burn him.
Then just before we left, I saw him again, but he was in a normal Jack cosplay.  He approached me and said he was "better," and I of course said that was good, and told him exactly what to look for to avoid being hurt by Heartless.  He stopped, laughed, and said I was beautiful for how I was acting out the KHstuck.

Now I'm just going to jump all over the time frame.

They had a gaming room there.  They had a Wii, a PS3, and two Xboxes (one with Kinec), as you'd expect, right?  Well, they also had a PS2, a GameCube, a Super Nintendo, an Atari, a Mrs. Pacman machine, a DDR machine, and a couple of consoles I did not recognize.
A freaking Atari, though.

I played DDR and Dance Central.  And just trying to play DC made me swear to never get an Xbox cause the Kinect is terrible.  But, I was surprised it had Technologic and Around the World on there.  So I played Gangnam Style, and Technologic with someone (they chose Gangnam Style, I chose Technologic).  The names of the dance moves are terrible.

While at the vendors, I got two pins: One that said "The special Hell," and "Winchester: Weapon of Choice."  Wonder what they could be for?
I also got this snake ring and wore it around all day, I love it.  And I got a keychain based around Aqua's wayfinder.  And then two hair pins - a Heartless symbol, and a shadow.  Also grabbed one of the freebies, an art print of Grimdark Rose.

My friend went to a Doctor Who panel about cosplay, and she seemed to have really fun.

But someone gathered a bunch of Homestucks to head over to the nearby mall to ride on the carousel there.  YES THERE WAS A CAROUSEL IN THE MALL, LIKE A FULL SIZED ONE.

I got in one of the tea cup rides with a Roxy (WHO'S SKYPE I GOT SHE WAS SO COOL), and we both ended up spinning that round so freaking fast she said she felt like she was going to barf.
She was with a really nice Damara, and we were talking about her poor Japanese.  She approached someone at around 4 in the afternoon and said: "Ohayou."  I'm just.  No.  It's "konbanwa," not "ohayou."  Konbanwa is essentially good afternoon.  Ohayou is slang (shortened version of "ohayou gozaimasu") for good morning.  So we were really just talking about Japanese language on the way back.
The farmer's market was going on in the mall at that time, and someone had a goat kid for sale and it was so cute believe me I made sure to take a picture.  We were all faun-ing over it.  Sorry, that was bad.

My little sisters were adorable as Green Link, and Blue Link from Four Swords.  I caught them fighting with each other - Blue trying to blow Green up with a bomb.  They kept going after people and trying to kill them, it was so cute!

Honestly, it was loads of fun, and I can't wait to go back next year.  I convinced my friend to go back, too.

The convention was totally worth the blisters on my feet, and the rash I got from walking around with shorts that were really too short on a hot day.

I donno, maybe I'll be Aqua next time?  I was considering going as my Lone Wanderer, too.  Maybe I'll stay more than one day next time.
I do want to work on a KHstuck Roxy, though.

All and all, it was fun.

Ulquiorra stalked down the halls of Las Noches.  Meeting after meeting, this was getting tiresome.  At least Yammy isn't here.

Every time there was a meeting; there was a new "ally".  First, there was Ansem, the man who brought the little girl to the white halls of Las Noches; Xemnas, who looked a lot like Ansem and was never without his posse of "Nobodies"; Sephiroth, a silver haired man who always worked in solitary; Ultimecia, a strange sorceress with immense power; a man who called himself Jecht who seemed weak, but claimed that his appearance was just temporary, he always seemed to talk to himself, though Ulquiorra once overheard Aizen talking to him, he referred to the man as "Sin" and the other "man" as "Yu Yevon"; a strange man named Galbatorix who seemed weak, but demonstrated immense power when needed; Ganondorf, a dark skinned man with orange hair that always seemed to be wearing ornamented black armor and carried a sword with him, but never used it, always exerting immense strength when need be; and, finally, a man named Galenth Dysley who rarely showed his face and was usually "represented" by three people: Cid Raines, Jihl Nabaat and Yaag Rosch.  Though the Espadas were to trust them and work with them, Ulquiorra didn't "trust" a single one of them.

He heard quick footsteps and saw a man with long silver hair stalk past him, a furious look on his face.  It was Yazoo, one of Sephiroth's "brothers".  He worked with them, but only when he needed to.  That's strange; I thought they were back on Gaia.

Rolling his eyes, he continued down the hall until he stopped by a large white door.  It was the door to the room the girl Marlene was in.  The Espada expected to hear crying come from inside the room, but was mildly surprised to hear nothing.  "Curiosity" got the better of Ulquiorra.  He opened the door to see if the girl was still in there and got hit in the head with a pillow.

"Get out!  Get out, get out, get out!" shrieked Marlene as the little girl hid behind the bed.

Ulquiorra sighed and kicked the pillow aside.  As he was closing the door to leave, Marlene cried out in fright.  "No!  Don't leave!"

"What do you want?" Ulquiorra asked, rolling his eyes.

"Take me back to Tifa!" Marlene yelled.  For a six year old, she was surprisingly brave…and stubborn.

"Why should I?" Ulquiorra asked, turning to face Marlene.

Marlene hesitated and stood up, mostly hidden by the bed she was hiding behind.  "Because…I'm scared.  I want to see Tifa and Denzel and Cloud again."

Ulquiorra looked at Marlene.  Is this girl mental?  She knows she cannot escape.  "I can't do that."

"But-"

"You are not allowed to leave Las Noches under any circumstance."

Marlene hesitated.  "Then can you stay with me?  I'm lonely."

"No."  With that, Ulquiorra left the room.

He continued down the halls (which would lead to his room, where he usually stayed until called upon) and barely noticed two Nobodies walk past him until he noticed they were carrying someone.  He turned around and saw the Nobodies (called Berserkers) dragging a woman with long light pink hair down the corridor.  She kept trying to break free, but she made no progress.

"Let me go!" she yelled, trying to hit them, but it didn't work.  Shrugging, Ulquiorra walked past them.

About half way to his room, he felt a strange spiritual presence.  He turned around, but saw nothing.  Shrugging, he continued.  There was the spiritual presence.  He turned…nothing.  I hope Yammy isn't ordering his stupid dog to follow me.  Ulquiorra was only able to take two steps before he felt that presence approach him again.  He stopped where he was, but didn't turn around.  The presence was still there.  Who was it?  He turned around, but faster this time, and saw a small figure dart behind a wall.  Sighing, Ulquiorra walked over and saw Marlene cowering on the ground, shaking like a scared rabbit.

"What are you doing out here?" Ulquiorra asked, looking at Marlene.

She cowered even more and tried to hide her face.  "N-None of your business."

Ulquiorra sighed.  "Why don't you just tell the truth this time.  You're trapped here, no hope for escape, how can you expect to leave if everyone here is able to take you down in an instant?"

Marlene stood up and looked at Ulquiorra, a look of determination in her eyes.  "I want to see Tifa!  I want to get back home!" the six year old exclaimed.  "You have to help me, you just have to!"

"But I am part of the group that kidnapped you, remember?" Ulquiorra stated.  "Why would you want me of all people to help you escape?"

Marlene hesitated, but looked at Ulquiorra again.  "Because I know you're not a bad person!  If you just tried, you could help me!  Please!  You must!"

The way Marlene talked reminded Ulquiorra of a girl that had been trapped in Las Noches before.  Why did they both act similarly?  Why did they both trust him?  He was their enemy.

"I cannot help you," Ulquiorra said flatly.  He took Marlene's arm and began to drag her back the way he came, the little girl saying nothing.

When the Espada approached her room, she wrenched her arm out of his grasp and shoved her hand into her pocket and pulled out a small paper flower.  She stuffed the paper flower into Ulquiorra's hand.

"Please keep this!  I-I made it with Tifa back at home," the girl said, not a hint of fear in her voice.  "I figured you must not have any friends so…I want to be your friend!"

Ulquiorra stared at Marlene blankly before she ran into the room and closed the door, leaving the Espada alone in the corridor.  Friend?  She wants to be my friend?  What a ridiculous notion.

xxxxxxxxx Marlene's POV xxxxxxxxx

Marlene sat down on "her bed" and summoned the silly key called a keyblade.  The scary man named Ansem gave her a lecture about monsters known as Heartless and Nobodies, but she didn't understand.  He said she was something called a keybearer or a keyblade wielder, but she didn't understand that, either.  She learned that the two boys who tried to save her were also keyblade wielders; their names were Sora and Riku.  He also told her that there were others, but he didn't say any names.

Marlene sighed.  "I miss Tifa," she mumbled, tracing her finger across the silver keyblade.  She dug her hand into her pocket and pulled out a charm that resembled a cherry blossom.

Tifa helped her press it so it would last forever, then she made a glass charm out of it. "I want to make a necklace out of it!" Marlene had said after Tifa had finished putting a chain to it.

Marlene looked at the charm and held it against her chest.  "Tifa…Denzel…Cloud…" she mumbled as a tear rolled down her cheek.

Marlene heard her door open and turned to see a girl with light green hair wearing nothing but a jacket, underwear and high heeled boots walk in, a smirk on her face.

"So, you were the girl Starrk was talking about," she taunted, walking over.

Marlene started to back up a bit, but the girl rushed over and was quickly in front of Marlene, an evil smile on her face.

"Are you running away from me?  What a rude little girl you are!"  The girl was about to punch Marlene, but she stopped and laughed.  "Nice charm you got there!  Mind if I look at it...?"

"No!" Marlene yelled, backing up.

"Aww, I won't do anything just…"  The girl tried to grab the charm, but Marlene had already backed up out of the girl's reach, the charm clutched in one hand and her keyblade in the other.

"Stay away from me!" Marlene yelled as she jumped off the side of the bed, mocking the stance that Cloud always stood in when he was fighting.

"Aww, the little girl is trying to fight," the girl taunted, rolling her eyes.  She scoffed.  "What a laugh riot."  She lunged at Marlene again, but Marlene quickly darted around the girl's arm and ran past her and for the open door.  She didn't make it very far; the girl with green hair quickly got in front of her, a curved sword pointed at Marlene.

"Ok, you're really getting on my nerves, girl!" the girl yelled.  "I don't care about Aizen's orders!  One more move like that and I'll slice you in half!"  Marlene held the keyblade closer to her, and stepped back, scared of the girl.  Why was she trying to kill her?  Why couldn't they be friends?

"If you don't hand me that charm by the count of three, I'll chop off your arms," the girl threatened.  Marlene's eyes widened in shock as the girl started tapping her foot with each word she said.  "One…Two…Three.  Ok, girl, you're dead."  She held up the sword and sliced it down at Marlene.

Marlene screamed in fright and held up her keyblade as she fell backwards in an attempt to dodge the sword.  She felt the charm in her hand disappear and the hilt of her keyblade change.  She dared to open her eyes and saw a shield of dark pink cherry blossoms form in front of her, stopping the sword.  Her own keyblade had become a tree branch with cherry blossoms all over it.

"Hey!  How did you do that?!" the girl yelled as Marlene stood up.  As if acting to Marlene's will, the cherry blossoms whipped around and began to constrict the girl.  Marlene knew that this was her only chance to escape from the scary girl, so she ran past her and out of the door, her pretty keyblade held tightly in her hand.

Marlene ran down the corridor, tripping every now and then.  She knew it was crazy, but she had to get out of this place.  She wanted to see Tifa, Cloud and Denzel again, and she wouldn't give up until she saw them!  That man could help me!  He didn't try to hurt me like that girl did!  Marlene stopped in front of a door and looked at the words on it.  There were symbols on it that she didn't recognize, but below it were letters she did recognize.

"Yull...ceyoo-eee...or...uh....siff...er…?" she mumbled, trying to read it.  It looked like the letters she was used to, but she wasn't sure what they said; was it a name?

Marlene yelped as the door opened, but she tried to calm down as she saw it was just the man from earlier.  "What are you doing here, girl?" he asked, though he seemed like he was tired or lonely.

Marlene hesitated and gripped her keyblade closer to her.  "Can you help me?" she asked shyly.

The man sighed.  "With what?"

"I want to go home!  Can you please take me back?"

The man sighed and rolled his eyes.  "Why should I?"

"Please, mister!" Marlene cried.  "I miss my friends!  I miss my daddy!  I want to go home!"

The man sighed and shook his head.  "Fine, fine.  I'll try to help you.  I don't see any point to this, anyways."

Marlene's face filled with joy.  "You will?  Thank you, mister!" she exclaimed, smiling.

The man sighed.  "Yes, I will.  And you can stop calling me 'mister' I have a name, it's Ulquiorra."

Marlene nodded.  "Ok, Ulquiorra."  She bowed her head.  "Thank you for helping me."  I have to be strong if I want to see them again.  Strong, like Cloud and Tifa.
